Training Our Youth for Compassion (classroom program in collaboration with SVUSD): In 2013 we reached 375 children in classrooms and hope to expand to over 500 in the 2014-15 school year.
School Visits
On October 2, Scrappy and I visited with the 8th Grade at Woodland Star as guests of Julie Diamond. Volunteering at Pets Lifeline was the topic.
On October 4, Snoopy and I visited with Kindergarten, First, and Second Graders at St. Francis Solano School. We talked about the needs of pets.
Toto and I visited with a First Grade Class at Prestwood School on October 25. We talked about how animals end up at shelters and what their needs are.
Cocoa and I visited Ms. Calderon's 4th Grade Class at Flowery. Our topic was dog safety.
On October 29 Tina and I visited with both K - 1 classes at Sonoma Charter School. We talked about what animals need.
On November 9 Lassie and I visited with Ms. Cree's class at Sassarini. It was a great visit! We discussed animal needs.
Club Visit in March
On Wednesday, March 28, members of the Builders' Club from Adele Harrison School toured our Shelter then presented us with a check for $172.50. They earned the money during the year from bake sales and other fundraisers. We are grateful to them and to Laura Grimes.
March Shelter Visit
On Saturday, March 31, the 8th Grade class from Sonoma Charter School came to visit the animals at Pets Lifeline. They made "No Bake Dog Treats" for our dogs and some toys for our cats. Thanks to Julie Diamond who made this happen.
